What issues do you work with?

I mostly see people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, or other kinds of emotional strain.

What kind of clients do you see?

Most of my clients are men between the ages of 18 and 40. All clients are welcome at my practice, but I have personal experience of the challenges specific to this group.

If you would like to see if would be a good fit to work together, give me a call for a free 10 minute chat.

What if I'm not sure what's wrong or what I need?

That’s completely okay. You don’t need to have it all figured beforehand. Part of therapy is working out what’s going on and you’re allowed to start just feeling unsure.

Isn't therapy a scam?

Here are some common criticisms about the value of therapy and my thoughts about these issues.

Do you offer Medicare rebates?

No. Counselling in Australia is private-pay and isn’t covered by Medicare. Some private health insurers may offer rebates, depending on your policy. It’s best to check with your provider directly.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are $160 for a standard 55 minute session. First sessions are a little longer at 60 minutes and are the same price. You can pay in person or through our online payments system. If the cost feels like a barrier, feel free to contact me. We can talk through whether a packaging option might help.

How do I book?

I offer a free 10-minute phone (or Zoom) call if you want to see if it’s the right fit.

Where are you located?

My office is in Penrith at WOTSO Penrith, Level 1, 95B Station Street, Penrith where I offer in-person counselling by appointment. I also offer phone and Zoom sessions Australia-wide.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Everything you share stays between us, unless there's a legal obligation to act for your safety or someone else’s. I’ll explain this clearly in our first session so you know where you stand.

Are you a qualified counsellor?

Yes. I hold a Diploma of Counselling from AIPC (the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors) and I’m a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). My training is nationally accredited, and I use well-established therapeutic approaches like CBT, ACT, and person-centred therapy.

What if I've never done counselling for?

That’s completely fine. Many of my clients are new to therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything, just show up as you are. I’ll explain everything clearly and go at your pace.

Do I need a GP referral or a Mental Health Care Plan?

No. You can self-refer. Mental Health Care Plans and Medicare rebates apply to psychologists, some social workers and occupational therapists, not counsellors. Private health rebates may be available depending on your policy.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. With less than 24 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee applies. No-shows may be charged.

Are you a crisis service?

No. I don’t provide emergency or crisis care. If you’re in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support call Lifeline on 13 11 14. In NSW you can also call the Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511.

Can I access my records?

Yes. You can request a copy of your health information. I’ll explain any legal limits and respond within 45 days, as required in NSW.

Can you write letters and reports?

Yes, I can write letters or reports. Please discuss what you need with me first; fees may apply.
